The Cache Bay pictographs. These appear to have been an attempt to document a gathering of somekind, I'm such a brilliant instinctual anthropologist.

One thing nice in October, if you want to make tea at the portage, you are'nt bothering any other travelers.

As I post this in Jan 2006, I can't verify the accuracy of the 28/37. I will look for the old deck log to confirm. This is on the Upper portion of Saganagons.

I had bombed out on my May 2002 Hunters Island bisection and vowed to return. It was still very spontaneous. But I had been yak camping all summer and new how to outfit. A view on Saganagons.

I had two new films and a partial, and I wasted a shot on brunch. I mix my fry bread in a bag and squeeze it wet into a wormroll. It was good.

I remember cleaning my pipe here and thinking about my grandfathers, who new each other. I imagined them on the far hill, impatient for me to get paddling

The kitchen is where it's at. This particluar kitchen has considerably more sq ft than the one at the house. Counters were a little low.

I have portaged around this one a few times. Somewhere between saganagons and Kawnipi.

I keep wanting to think this is Wet Lake. I know it's before Kawnipi and I remember this was the last warm night of the trip. I played my cedar flute, awesome echoing, well into the night.

I've said it before, this is where we live. Setting up camp. I don't use that bivvy tent anymore. I liked it's footprint but it didn't free stand.

This was my first BW/Q without eyeglasses. That lasik is a miracle.
I was still reaching up to push my glasses up my nose many times on each portage, even though they were gone.
Muscle memory is a strange thing.

I was in to getting underway early on this trip. In fact I was waiting for a little more light here. It turned out to be a bright, crisp autumn paddle day.

Riding down the canyon. This area coming west from Sag to Kawnipi was all burned off sometime not too long ago, I never researched the dates. I have talked to folks who don't like it, I think it's a great path.
